As far as free optimisation goes, we are all getting hundreds of calls each month from IT Companies offering to optimise our website and get you to number one on the all-important Google Search Engine, well the answer is that all of the big companies offer these services for free, Yahoo – Microsoft – and Google to mention but just a few, for example if you get a free Flickr account, you can upload your images and create a superb slideshow within a few seconds.

If you take time to fill in the meta data for each picture or set, then nobody will be able to beat your own work which has cost you nothing but time, you will soon find that the images you have uploaded will come first on searches in front of your site, but that link will get your customers to the site which the images belong to.

10 Tips to Better Car or Van Pictures

Most digital compacts circa £100 are more than adequate for website pictures
Try to choose a camera that has a broad zoom to wide-angle function
Choose a clean uncluttered background and use the same place to take pictures every time.
Give the camera time to focus and take an exposure reading before gently pressing the release.
Get close to the car and fill the frame with your pictures.
Choose the same sequence of pictures for each car. Front, side, 3/4, rear, inside front, inside back, engine boot?
Shoot your pictures from a lower angle not higher looking down, the cars look more attractive.
Shoot on a medium telephoto setting not wide angle. Stand further back and zoom if possible, the cars have a better perspective.
Moving the centre point of focus [normally the circle centre frame] and taking an exposure by half pressing the release button will give significantly brighter or darker pictures. Try taking a few from the same angle, slightly moving the point of focus between dark and light areas of the car, see the result that it makes then select the best for the website.
Great pictures sell cars, they are your showroom. Take care, time and attention at this critical stage and you will see your enquiries increase
